The most awaited KAS Mains Syllabus has been published by Kerala Public Service Commision.
The Detailed Syllabus of Mains Examination is an exact replica of KAS Preliminary Exam Syllabus with the exception that the Maths, English and Malayalam part is excluded from it.
The Syllabus is set by the PSC in such a way that if an aspirant prepares for the Preliminary examination with conceptual clarity and focussing on key issues along with studying the facts required for Prelims, the Mains examination will be a cakewalk for him/ her.
The only additional work needed will be developing the answer writing skills which will enable him/ her to understand the questions and present the answers with clarity.
The most notable feature in the Mains Syllabus is the importance PSC has given to Current related issues in Paper II and Paper III. [For detailed analysis of current related issues as per KAS Syllabus, you can refer: https://talentkas.com/layout-f/daily-current-affairs/]
The Mains Examination which follows a descriptive method will have 3 papers, each of 100 marks.
Paper I: History (India and Kerala), History of the World (from mid 18th century) and Cultural Heritage of Kerala.
Paper II: Indian Constitution, Public Administration, Political System, Governance, Social Justice and International Relations; Science and Technology and Current Issues in given topics
Paper III: Economy and Planning, Geography and Current Issues in Economy and Planning & Geography
